European Museum Night 2010

12.05.10
Proarte fine art gallery, JLR GDAŃSK Jaguar Land Rover Authorised Diller and Rezydent Hotel*****, invite you to a night programme as a part of European Museum Night 2010.
  09.00 p.m. THE CONCERT
The main attraction of the MUSEUM NIGHT in proarte gallery will be a Piotr Piasecki (Bajzel) concert. The musician gained popularity among alternative music admirers. Having only a guitar, interesting voice and drums, he creates absorbing performance almost like the whole band. Bajzel plays with his words in an unconventional way with, often, waspy humour.
He never stops experimenting with his music, by mixing various styles that become the new ones.

10.30 p.m. WHAT DID THE ARTIST WANT TO SAY?– presentation of gallery’s collection

The Museum Night will be the time when we will present Artists who became friends of the gallery, as well as the best pieces of art from proarte collection.

Magda Peszkowska – graduated from the Academy of Art in Gdańsk, now living and creating in Wrocław. Experimenting artist. She gained popularity after showing paintings on rollaway beds and military blankets. We will see a set of monochromatic paintings e.g.: „Kupię suknię” (I will by a dress) – inspired by Allegro auctions, showing emotional state of the artist.

Artur Wyszecki – graduated from the Academy of Art in Gdańsk, versatile artist, a scholar with a great workshop, recently forgotten by Polish galleries. His works very often correlate with european painting canons. We will see e.g.: „ Łazienka Arnolfinich” (The Arnolfins bathroom), „ Kotłownia” (Boiler room).

Jan Opaliński
– living and creating in Łódź. Talented illustrator and graphic designer. Grotesque in his work (“Accelerated Antoni” or „Inviolable”) is an example of the artist’s sense of humour and a great workshop. Paintings of Opaliński are mostly women in different situations and atmosphere. “ Biała noc” (White night), „Klęcząca” (She Kneeing), „Gwiazdka” (A Star), are cogitative paintings, full of concentration without unnecessary decorations.

Anna Gawlikowska – graduated from the Academy of Art in Wrocław. She began with a set masterly linocuts „Święto Księżyca” (Moon Day). Fascinated by human face and nature influence on a human being, he creates compelling paintings that strongly affect the viewers.
